Opening reception: Friday, June 2, 6–8pm
Opening June 2 through July 8, Blum & Poe will exhibit works by Dan Asher, Shane Hassett and Andrei Roiter.
At first glance these artists may not seem to share a commonalty. Dan Asher's sculptures and works on paper are immediate and generous. But within his apparently casual concern lies Shane Hassett's watercolors are reflections of the ridiculous emotional assumptions the artist (and the artistic tradition) projects upon an impenetrable nature. Russian Artist Andrei Roiter's wry and absurd works attempt to create a language for the space between moments and memory and the impossibility of ever making sense of it all.
