June 1 through June 29, Blum & Poe will present “Wet on Wet,” a series of paintings by Los Angeles based artist Dennis Hollingsworth.  The “Wet on Wet” series is "centered on the appreciation of the phenomena of a wet brush (or any tool) moving into a wet field".

Intensely condensed and neither abstract nor figurative, Hollingsworth's new body of work is blessedly difficult to categorize.  Within this odd space, a thick brutish mark can lay down next to the most delicate stroke all colored by Hollingsworth's jarring and very idiosyncratic palette. These are peculiar paintings with complicated visions of controlled mayhem.
