On the occasion of 91–98 jfk–lax border, Alvaro Barrington's first solo exhibition in Los Angeles, Blum & Poe is pleased to present a conversation with Barrington and Angie Martinez. Expanding on themes in 91–98 jfk–lax border, Barrington and Martinez will discuss the moments in hip-hop history that deeply impacted Barrington and inspired the exhibition. Martinez has witnessed these moments firsthand during her career as a popular radio host in New York City—having interviewed icons such as Tupac.
Known as “The Voice of New York,” Martinez is a radio personality, a Grammy-nominated recording artist, and a New York Times best-selling author. A host at New York’s Power 105.1, Martinez holds a place in the Radio Hall of Fame and an honorary doctorate from Rutgers University.
